HOSTSEARCH: Hi Andrei, thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk with you today. ANDREI PIETROSU: Hello! I'm glad that the voice of the Romanian companies is finally heard. HOSTSEARCH: Can you please tell us about your background and how you have joined eGazda? ANDREI PIETROSU: Well, there's not a whole lot to tell. Back in 2005, when the Romanian hosting industry was just strating up, I received a proposal from Bogdan Martinescu, my associate, to create eGazda. Since then I manage the sales teams and all new projects. HOSTSEARCH: Can you please tell us more about the company? ANDREI PIETROSU: Like I said, we started early on the Romanian market so we are one of the biggest and oldest companies on the market. We mainly offer shared and reseller hostng and domains but we also specilize in VPS and custom dedicated server configuration. I like to think that we helped this industry plant it's roots in Romania and that in the last 5 years, along with the other big companies we created a quality standard that all Romanian clients appreciate. HOSTSEARCH: What does a web hosting market in Romania look like? ANDREI PIETROSU: At this moment, the Romanian market is in it's early 20s in my oppinion. The clients have learned what to look for and they understand that quality and professionalism don't come cheap. That's why in Romania there are very few companies that offer unlimited hosting(and they generally dissapear after about a year or two) at dumping prices. We also have a some big players like Hostway and 1&1. Although it's still a small market(estimated at about 6-8 million Euro), every year, it's value has dubbled, so I think that the big players in the international arena have already started to make plans for Romania. HOSTSEARCH: What is your main market, local, Europe, or USA? ANDREI PIETROSU: We ofer mainly hosting services for the local market, but we have a number of clients distributed across Europe and even USA. HOSTSEARCH: What are the key factors for consumers to select the web hosting services in Romania? Any differences from other parts in Europe? ANDREI PIETROSU: I don't think that our services are different from other European companies. Usually, clients choose Romania because they have websites with content oriented on the Romanian population and because they receive support in their native language. Also, I like to think that we differentate ourselves from other European hosters because we offer a prompt and extremly frienly 24/7 tehnical support. I noticed, and other companies also reported, that if you show the client that you sympathize with his problems and do your best to solve them, you increase your chances of selling aditional product or renewing the contract with mor than 60%. HOSTSEARCH: We know that eGazda offers variety of products and services. What is your core product? What are you concentrating in? ANDREI PIETROSU: If I judge by Our sales than the core product is represented by shared hosting. Actually, we are working on two shared hosting related project that may change the way costumers look at shared webhosting in Romania and with a little luck Europe next year. HOSTSEARCH: How do you advertise your products and services? ANDREI PIETROSU: We mainly use Google, some blog campaigns, but we also tested some new media agencies. HOSTSEARCH: Does the current economic situation affect you? ANDREI PIETROSU: It's true that the current economic situation is making things a little bit difficult, but we haven't noticed a dramatical drop in sales on the Romanian market. In the past year I think only one or two small-medium companies exited so I don't think that we're doing so bad especially considering that new companies appear weekly. HOSTSEARCH: How do you see the company in the next 3 years? ANDREI PIETROSU: I'm sorry but I really have no idea. At the rate this industry is growing in Romania I can't estimate where will we be in 3 years. Although,I'm confident that we'll still be at the top and still growing. HOSTSEARCH: Is there anything you would like to share with our readers? Maybe they are looking for a host in Romania or in Europe.
