HOSTSEARCH: Can you please introduce yourself to our readers? What made you want to get into the hosting industry and what are some of your previous experiences that helped you excel today? RYAN BARKER: Hello, I am Ryan Barker, I am 25 years old and a resident of Maine and I founded HostaTree.com. I have always been interested in the Internet and like to be in control of my life and this was the best way to do it. I have a few passions, providing top-notch service and quality to my customers with a reputable name just happens to be one of them. HOSTSEARCH: What made you decide to be a Green Hosting company? RYAN BARKER: Well being from Maine, a very scenic state I have always been interested and done my part in helping the environment. I thought it would be a good way to pay it forward so to speak and draw to a certain audience. Although everyone is welcome to buy products and services from us - we like knowing that you care about the environment too. HOSTSEARCH: If someone were to be you for a day, what would his or her day be like at HostaTree? RYAN BARKER: I focus a lot of my time on customer service and customer satisfaction. I provide leadership and insight to all of my staff making sure they have the appropriate tools and knowledge to successfully help each and every customer. I spend a lot of time working one of my partners to ensure we stay strategically focused and continue to acquire and retain our customers both in the US and internationally. HOSTSEARCH: HostaTree has only been around for a little over two years; how do you manage surviving and what are your plans going forward? RYAN BARKER: I feel I have a good understanding of people and customers who helped me put together a top of the line staff. We like to focus primarily on keeping our current customers happy and making our new ones feel right at home with our products and services. Our plans going forward include opening a sister site HostaVPS.com which will provide our VPS hosting services as well as WebHostSupport.com which is already in the works. HOSTSEARCH: What sets you above all the other hosting companies? RYAN BARKER: I would have to say our knowledgeable staff and our willingness to keep all of our clients happy. Unfortunately things happen and you cannot keep everyone satisfied, but it's the way we treat and deal with people that help keep us a cut above everyone else. HOSTSEARCH: How many customers does HostaTree.com currently have and what is its primary business? RYAN BARKER: We have over 1000 active clients that are very interested in shared hosting packages, although it is fairly split between Shared Hosting and Dedicated Servers. HOSTSEARCH: Over the past two years what have you noticed about the hosting industry and is there anything you like/dislike about it? RYAN BARKER: One thing that is quite pertinent in my mind is how many web hosting companies there are - and how many of them provide excellent service which is attributable to the maturity of the industry. I see Cloud Hosting playing a part in my many new markets as well. HOSTSEARCH: Does HostaTree.com have any plans going forward and is there anything you would like everyone to know? RYAN BARKER: Although HostaTree.com will not be providing VPS services, this service will be offered by HostaVPS (our sister company) - owned, managed, and operated by the same members of HostaTree. We are always running promotions to help grow our business, but the main focus is not on us - it's always on you! |
