‘Pure-play’ Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) hosting provider
3W Infra has announced the launch of Dell-powered dedicated server packages. 3W Infra, which has headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, was established in 2014. Alongside dedicated servers its services extend to colocation and IP transit options offered through scalable hosting and network infrastructures. The company currently manages more than 4,600 dedicated servers. Its latest offering provides mid-end and high-end dedicated server solutions.
3W Infra’s new packages are underpinned by Dell’s “14th generation PowerEdge server technology” with plans to add AMD-powered (next to Intel-powered) Dell equipment later in the year. Replacing Dell R430 and R530 servers, the company’s high-end packages are underpinned by Dell PowerEdge R440 hardware, while its mid-range dedicated servers are powered by Dell PowerEdge R540 hardware. 3W Infra’s choice of Dell hardware was based on thorough testing to determine if it met required efficiency and performance standards.
The new offerings are provided through 3W Infra’s ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified and PCI DSS compliant data center in Amsterdam. 3W Infra’s R540 dedicated server package features include up to 20 cores dual Intel Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) CPU and 512 GB DDR4 alongside Dell Remote Access and Lifecycle Controller (iDRAC9 Enterprise) and hardware RAID (PERC): Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller. Mid-end dedicated server packages include Dual Intel Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) CPU with the same number of 22 cores, 512 GB DDR4, Hardware RAID (PERC): Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller and up to 4 x 3.5” Hot Plug HDD.
“3W Infra engineers have run multiple tests with both of these Intel-powered Dell server types on the test bench in our flagship data center in Amsterdam and they found remarkable improvements when compared to the previous generation of Dell servers,” explained 3W Infra’s Managing Director, Roy Premchand. “Our testing results show that the equipment is delivering serious efficiency and performance enhancements, as promised by Dell.”
