February 28, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) 3Tera (http://www.3tera.com) has launched a Grid University for web hosting providers, the company announced today. The university will offer interactive education on utility computing and offers a number of free online courses designed to enable hosting providers to take advantage of web-based data center technologies.
The education available aims to cover all use cases and skill sets through three course levels: General Knowledge, Grid Usage and Grid Maintenance. The General Knowledge level starts with a Welcome to Grid U course that provides an overview of grid and utility computing. Grid Usage level courses are designed for people evaluating AppLogic, or those using AppLogic grids. It offers a two-hour Grid Boot Camp and a guide on how to run, deploy, provision and operate online applications. Grid Maintenance caters for data center system administrators and operations managers and looks at how to install, configure and manage the grid infrastructure.
All courses include live questions and answers sessions and will be available online. The courses will be held each Tuesday at 4:00 pm (PST) and each Friday at 10:00 am (PST). To consider the current class schedule and to enroll onto courses visit the companys corporate website.
