Web Hosting and Domain Name Provider 4Domains, Inc. Announces Free Domain Name Auction Site
November 20, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting and domain name provider 4Domains, Inc. has launched a free domain name auction site, it was announced recently. The site, DotPound.com (http://www.dotpound.com) is, according to the company, the first domain auction site void of listing or transaction fees.
We look at this site as a monument to the industry for providing a free service maintained by an ICANN Accredited Registrar to benefit the entire registrar and web hosting industry, explained 4Domains, Inc.s CEO Mr. Chuck Steinberger. Our motivation initially for this site was to offer some of our larger domain customers an exit strategy for their large domain holdings. But as the project grew we realized that we could also increase the demand for registering new domain names and buying expired domain names if we provided a free auction service.
Its important to motivate the demand for registering, selling and buying domain names for an industry that has significant profitability for both the buyer and seller, added 4Domains CTO Mr. John Palmer. I am very excited to be finally rolling this site out since my development staff has been working on it for quite some time and the beneficiary of this service has been a moving target.
