March 8, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Active Giving Solutions(http://www.ActiveGiving.com), a division of The Active Network, Inc., a resource for building fundraising communities online, will provide online registration, donation and data management for Girls on the Run International, a non-profit prevention program for preteen girls that fosters self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
The group is using Active Giving Solutions to debut online fundraising management services for more than 100 councils throughout the United States and Canada.
"Using services from ActiveGiving has helped us make a big impact in the way we do business. We're able to access and manage our data better, focus on attracting new participants and expanding our reach. We're also able to offer our participants and donors the benefits of registering online or donating online," explained Anissa Freeman, executive director, Girls on the Run International.
Through ActiveGiving's Web-based data management tools, Girls on the Run can now track and manage its participant, registrant, and donation data as well as offer participants online access to its services. Participants can search for Girls on the Run programs and events online and register or submit a donation in just a few minutes. Using the service in an initial pilot program for one of its largest councils, Girls on the Run experienced a 30 percent increase in online registrants.
The Girls on the Run program offers a 12-week interactive life skills/running program that provides girls ages eight to 13 the tools to make healthy decisions and form healthy self images. Since 1996, over 40,000 participants have completed the Girls on the Run program. In addition, the organization offers a Girls on the Run(R) 5K Race Series which attracts more than 17,000 participants annually.
This year, the race series will be held in 40 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
