Adaptive Cloud Security Platform Provider Illumio Announces Additional $100 million Investment
Adaptive cloud security platform provider Illumio has announced it has received an additional $100 million in investment. The company, which was founded in 2013, is based in Sunnyvale, California, United States. Its solutions adapt to any infrastructure and remove security dependency on any particular infrastructure. This means they provide protection in a range of environments, including private clouds, public clouds, and private data centers.

News of the investment comes on the heels of Illumio extending its Illumio ASP solution to manage security policies related to F5 Networks and NGINX load balancers. Illumio ASP provides a Virtual Enforcement Agent which enters the Operating Systems on which applications are run and interfaces with third-party threat protection services to fight malware as quickly as possible.

Ilumio's total investment received to date has reached $147 million. The current round of investment is designed to strengthen its presence in the cloud security arena. The company intends to stimulate sales globally through initiatives that might include Virtual Security Services provided through managed security service companies.
