Amazon Web Services Plans Expansion in India
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning to expand in India. The company, the cloud computing arm of Amazon.com, was established in in 2006. It is a globally recognized brand that offers a wide range of cloud-based services including computing and storage services alongside database and analytics services. AWS manages a global network of data centers and caters to over a million customers. The company’s expansion in the sub-continent is designed to better serve “tens of thousands of customers in India” that use AWS via infrastructure regions outside India.

"Several of these customers, along with many prospective new customers, have asked us to locate infrastructure in India so they can enjoy even lower latency to their end users in India and satisfy any data sovereignty requirements they may have,” explained AWS’ Senior Vice President, Andy Jassy. “We're excited to share that Indian customers will be able to use the world’s leading cloud computing platform (AWS) in India in 2016 – and we believe India will be one of AWS's largest regions over the long term."

AWS has an extensive range of partners that have utilized its platform to establish “innovative technology solutions” in India. It also benefits from a network of consulting partners that includes major companies such as Accenture, Blazeclan, Frontier, Intelligrape, Minjar, Progressive, PWC, SaaSforce, and Team Computers, amongst others. Its Technology Partners in India include major names such as Adobe, Druva, Freshdesk, Indusface, Microsoft, Newgen, RAMCO, SAP, and Seclore.
