Atlantic.Net Announces SSAE 16 Certification
October 29, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Atlantic.Net has achieved SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Type II certification, the company announced recently. The certification acknowledges IT service quality at its data center.

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Type II certification is “an internationally recognized standard” and replaces Atlantic.Net’s previous SAS 70 Type II certification. To achieve this certification Atlantic.Net’s colocation data center operation was audited against certification standards by an independent body which considered the efficiency of the company’s controls over a one-year examination period. In this instance, the audit was carried out by full-service certified public accounting and professional services firm, Reckenen, Inc., who considered the company’s data center, computer operations, logical and physical security, and its controlled environment.

"The renewal of this independent third-party certification reflects our continued commitment to operate at the highest standards and demonstrate to our clients that the security of their information and equipment is paramount to us," explained Atlantic.Net’s Director of Operations, Brett Haines. "The controls used during the SSAE 16 re-certification process allow us to provide peace of mind to our clients so they can concentrate on growing their business."
