Australian Web Host Crucial Acquires AVS Networks
Australian web host Crucial has acquired AVS Networks (AVS). The company, which has headquarters in Sydney, was established in 2003 and specializes in web hosting for small businesses. Its services include VPS hosting, managed VPS, "Barebones VPS" and reseller hosting. AVS Networks is also based in Sydney and specializes in domain registration and hosting. Crucial's acquisition will allow it to offer domain registration options alongside its hosting services.

Financial details regarding the acquisition were not released but it was announced that AVS Networks' customers will be absorbed into Crucial's infrastructure before the end of February 2015. Nigel Burke, AVS' CEO and founder, will join the company. "Nigel brings a huge amount of capability to the Crucial team, having achieved a great deal in his 17 years at AVS," explained Ijan Kruizinga, the CEO at Crucial. "His experience will be invaluable to us as we push forward in 2015."

"Crucial sets an excellent standard for quality Australian hosting, with a similar culture and ethos to AVS," added Mr. Burke. "The acquisition will benefit AVS customers with added resources, fantastic support and high performance infrastructure - it's a win-win."
