BackupAssist has announced the launch of Version 10 of its automated Windows server backup and recovery software. BackupAssist was established in 2002 and has corporate headquarters in Box Hill Victoria, Australia alongside a presence in the United States. With “tens of thousands of customers in 165 countries” the company provides cloud independent data protection that targets small to medium size businesses. Its server backup and recovery software provides “protection for physical, virtual, and cloud environments” and version 10 of the solution offers a number of benefits on previous iterations.
Version 10 of BackupAssist allows users to utilize their preferred public cloud infrastructure to store backup data. With cloud independence users select the ultimate backup storage location, eliminating potential backup and storage provider conflicts and assuring customers of optimum data deduplication and compression efficiency. The solution is designed with ease of use in mind. It provides platform protection for Hyper-V and support applications that include Microsoft SQL. Current options also include Amazon AWS S3 and Microsoft Azure.
