Backup, Recovery and Business Continuity Solutions Provider Datto Announces Launch of Cloud Storage Option
Backup, recovery and business continuity solutions provider Datto has announced the launch of a new cloud storage option, Datto Drive. Datto, which has headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, United States, offers a range of services. The company operates a proprietary ‘200 petabyte private cloud’ infrastructure and specializes in offering “Total Data Protection everywhere business data lives”, whether it is on a physical or virtual server or in the cloud. The company’s latest offering targets SMB customers.

While the bulk of the ‘FSS services’ market targets larger companies, Datto aims to cater for increasing demand amongst smaller businesses. Datto Drive is a file sync and share solution which Datto believes can disrupt the market by offering cheaper storage than offered by major players like Microsoft, Google, Dropbox, and Box. The prevalence of the ‘freemium’ storage model is, Datto suggests, evidence of SMBs storage needs. The solution will cost only $10 per terabyte per month. An unlimited number of users will be able to utilize each Datto account.

"Current file sync and share services are overpriced solutions for small businesses," explained Datto’s CEO and Founder, Austin McChord. "Anyone who's paying hundreds or thousands of dollars every month for FSS will immediately see Datto Drive as a welcome alternative."
