Big Data-as-a-Service Company Qubole Announces New Big Data Service
Big Data-as-a-Service company Qubole has announced the launch of a new ‘big data’ service - the Qubole Data Service (QDS). Qubole, which has headquarters in Mountain View, California, United States, provides a self-service platform for big data analytics that leverages the cloud platforms of key providers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Google Clouds. The company’s integration with Oracle's Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform offers users a “comprehensive big data solution for the cloud”.

QDS offers data teams “access to virtually any data processing tools” including Hadoop, Spark, Presto and Hive. Oracle users can gain “faster insights” by combining data from Oracle databases and applications with data from third party sources. Qubole and Oracle have been working closely to integrate QDS with the Oracle Cloud Platform and users can now optimize performance and control costs through automation of functions such as auto-scaling and automatic lifecycle management of clusters. The two companies will provide a demonstration of the Oracle Cloud Platform at Oracle OpenWorld on September 21, 2016 in room 309 at 3 p.m. Pacific Time.

"Most of the world's enterprise data touches the Oracle ecosystem,” explained Qubole’s CEO and co-founder, Ashish Thusoo. “Now with Qubole on the Oracle Cloud Platform, enterprises have an ideal solution for processing that data and turning it into valuable business insights," "We're excited to be working with Oracle to help enterprises transform their businesses with big data insights."
