Mr. Brian Ahern has joined cloud security company
Threat Stack as CEO. The startup company, which has headquarters in Boston, USA, specializes in digital security, particularly for Amazon Web Services (AWS) web servers. The company's services provide "continuous security monitoring" for cloud infrastructures, protecting clouds from intrusion and data loss. Mr. Ahern is the company's third CEO to date and replaces Mr. Doug Cahill.
Mr. Ahern joins Threat Stack from Industrial Defender, a company he founded. Industrial Defender has headquarters in Foxborough, Massachusetts and specializes in protecting industrial locations such as power plants from cyberattacks. While its competitors work across a range of platforms, Threat Stack focuses entirely on the AWS infrastructure. Its solutions monitor access to a cloud to establish potential security threats. Threat Stack began operating in November 2014 and currently caters to around 50 clients and employs around 50 staff.
Threat Stack has received a $9-million investment from venture capital companies to boost its activities and as part of the company Mr. Ahern will be in charge of "building and expanding" the company and addressing the increased demand for its services. “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to lead Threat Stack into its next stage of growth,” Ahern said on the company's blog. “It is one of those perfect storm scenarios where you have the right product, market demand, and team all coming together at the right time to create a world-class, sustainable, disruptive cloud security company”.
