Web Host Brinkster Releases Web-based File Manager Beta
November 21, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web host Brinkster has released the beta version of a web-based File Manager, it was reported recently. The File Manager uses Adobe's Open Source Flex Framework and, according to the company, has an easy to use interface and is unlike any other in the web hosting industry. Its unique features allow users to perform common file related functions right from a web browser. The new tool is already installed on 97% of Brinkster's customer's computers.
"After many months in development we are excited to beta release the next generation in web based file and folder management, explained the companys President and CEO, Jared Stauffer. This new tool gives our customers the ease of use they have been asking for." Brinkster suggests that the new File Manager has the look and feel of a standard PC file system and features include a text editor that allows users to open multiple files, search for text, jump to a line in the code, then make a change or update. In addition, the system allows users to change file and folder security permissions as they go along, and customize web space. It is also possible to upload multiple files at one time.
Established in 1999, Brinkster Communications Corporation offers shared and dedicated web hosting to individuals, small to medium sized businesses in over 175 countries.
