Summit Hosting has acquired premier QuickBooks services provider HarborCloud. Summit Hosting has global headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States. The company “provides cloud-based hosting to businesses all around the world” and specializes in application delivery for a range of industries (finance, accounting, engineering, etc.). It also offers virtualization options and “simple and affordable” cloud-based QuickBooks hosting. Summit Hosting’s acquisition of HarborCloud underscores its growth strategy of expanding its QuickBooks hosting footprint and customer base. Financial aspects of the deal were not released.
HarborCloud has head offices in Bellevue, Washington, United States. The company is a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) with a strong focus on QuickBooks, PeachTree, and Act! Hosting. The company uses HP Blade servers to deliver the Citrix XenApp 6.5 platform, which is colocated in an SAS 70 Type II data center. The company’s customer base includes “start-ups, small businesses and various professional practices, including accounting professionals”. Summit Hosting’s acquisition of the company will significantly enhance its presence in the QuickBooks hosting arena and its geographical presence.
“Since 2011, HarborCloud has made a name for themselves as a premier QuickBooks hosting provider which is reflected in their historically high customer retention rate,” explained the CEO of Summit Hosting, Stan Kania. “Customer retention and satisfaction is something we, too, heavily emphasize as a company so the acquisition seemed to provide a very natural fit and growth opportunity for our business.”
