Canadian Provider AURO Launches SSD Block Storage Options
Canadian provider AURO has launched SSD block storage options within a "100% Canadian platform". The company, which has headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, offers "Canada's only enterprise public cloud" - an OpenStack-based solution that "can support a wide range of cloud computing requirements". The addition of SSD block storage guarantees customers Tier 1 level performance and faster database and applications storage. The solution is of particular benefit to customers who require "redundant persistent storage service made for applications and databases that require frequent reads and writes".

AURO's news will "strengthen" its services in a competitive cloud hosting market as an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider. The company launched in 2014 through data centers in Vancouver. Since then it has expanded its cloud offerings through facilities in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which will launch shortly. AURO's cloud allows its customers to benefit from "multi-region deployments across Canada" - of particular interest to customers who need to keep data within Canada to meet compliance requirements.

AURO's Standard Block Cloud Storage leverages enterprise-grade x86 hardware using ZFS for higher performance to offer high IOPs. Block Storage will allow AURO's customers to "easily attach and access volumes from running instances for additional storage, copy and back up data quickly and reliably with volume snapshots, create persistent instances to better save data and access stored and cached data faster".
