FullHost has announced the launch of Canada-based ‘Windows ready’ virtual servers and bare metal dedicated servers. With headquarters in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, FullHost was established in 2004. A division of Pretecs Networks Inc., the company’s wide range of products and services also include shared web hosting, reseller hosting, managed virtual cloud options. Its new Windows options are provided through its facilities in Vancouver and Toronto.
Typically web hosts offer servers with Windows and UNIX/Linux Operating Systems (OS). While UNIX/Linux is extremely popular, some applications can only operate in a Windows environment. The Windows OSs FullHost offers include Windows Server 2016 alongside Windows Server 2012 R2. Each offers administrator-level login and remote desktop access for remote server access.
“While Linux is widely used, there is a strong demand for having Windows servers based fully in Canada,” explained FullHost’s Director, Chris Tilden. “Whether it is to do with personal preference or the need to run certain Windows applications like ASP, .NET, MSSQL, or Visual Basic we are very pleased to be offering our clients the choice to provision in both Linux or Windows.”
