Canadian Web Hosting) has announced the launch of new Virtual Private Server (VPS) plans with ‘built-in disaster recovery services’. Established in 1998, Canadian Web Hosting offers SAS70 Type II, SSAE 16 Type II SOC 1 and CICA 5970-certified services that are designed to meet their Canadian clients’ exact requirements. Alongside VPS these services extend to shared hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated servers, and IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS). Its new VPS offering is known as ‘VPS SAFE’.
Canadian Web Hosting’s VPS SAFE plans utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to “learn customers data patterns and maximize data protection by seamlessly moving data between data center locations and helping to prevent data loss”. Underpinned by VMware and Veeam's replication technology, the plans “deliver high-performance and scalable servers" and enable customers to avoid data loss.
VPS SAFE plans’ save data to a secondary location chosen by each customer. These might include Canadian Web Hosting locations in Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, and Dallas, Texas, United States. The service replicates data to the remote location in a “continuous sync”. When choosing locations within Canada the services meets Canada's privacy and data sovereignty requirements. It offers a “Recovery Point Objective of 15 minutes for all new plans” but real-time continuous replication is also available if required. The plans begin at only CAD 15.00 (US$ 11.20).
