EvoSwitch has been recognized at the Datacloud Awards 2017. EvoSwitch, which is part of the Ocom Group, is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The company offers ISO 27001:2013, ISO 14001:2004, PCI-DSS, SIOC1 Type II, and LEED Gold-compliant data center services through “cloud- and carrier-neutral” facilities in the United States and Europe. It offers a range of managed services such as ‘EvoSwitch OpenCloud’ – a “cloud-neutral and partner-rich (hybrid) cloud interconnection marketplace for low-latency interconnection options”. EvoSwitch’s services are powered by 100% renewable energy and it was awarded the ‘Best Energy Solution’ at the Datacloud Europe 2017 event that took place in Monaco from June 6, 2017 to June 8, 2017.
Datacloud Europe is a networking event for “data center and cloud leaders, their customers and investors”. The event offers a range of input in areas as diverse as energy cloud, markets and technologies. This year’s event, held in Monte Carlo, considered ‘What’s wrong with the data centre industry?’ – an issue discussed by a panel that included Christian Belady, General Manager - Cloud Infrastructure Strategy And Architecture, Dean Nelson, Head of Compute at Uber, and Joe Kava, VP of Datacenters at Google.
The Best Energy Solution award recognizes a “data center facility, a team or an individual with a demonstrable track record of implementing an innovative approach”. The event’s judges recognized EvoSwitch’s energy innovation within the data center environment. The panel recognized its achievements as far as its proprietary free cooling based data center technology was concerned.
