Mr. Oliver Mauss, who took the companys CEO position in May, will take part in a panel discussion on APS and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) entitled Taking Advantage of SaaS with the Application Packaging Standard on Tuesday, July 29, 2008.
1&1, which bills itself as the world's largest web host, is an active proponent of APS and SaaS technologies and helped Parallels design APS requirements for hosting providers. The company is the first service provider to implement support for the APS standard in the Click-n-Build web hosting platform.
A subsidiary of United Internet, with U.S. headquarters in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, 1&1 Internet Inc. was founded in 1988 and hosts more than 10 million domain names. The company runs more than 55,000 servers from five data centers and caters for over 7 million customer contracts.
