Chinese Cloud Provider Tencent Cloud Acquires MTCS SS
Chinese cloud provider Tencent Cloud (Tencent) has acquired the Multi-Tier Cloud Security Standard (MTCS SS). “One of the leading cloud providers in the world,” Tencent has headquarters in Shenzhen, China. Established in 2013, the company offers a broad range of services including cloud and open source technology alongside user experience options and management tools. Its “powerful and robust” cloud solutions are designed to help enterprises in China expand their services. Financial aspects of its acquisition of MTCS SS have yet to be released.

MTCS SS is an internationally recognized standard that offers robust levels of security. The standard is essential to cloud computing adoption in Singapore. It allows Tencent to associate a recognised standard to its cloud offerings within the Asia Pacific region. The acquisition also highlights Tencent’s ability to “host, handle and process highly confidential data” and enables its customers to operate safe in the knowledge their data is secure.

“The acquisition of the highest level MTCS SS security standard demonstrates how Tencent Cloud continues to establish itself as one of the world’s leading industry players, having helped Tencent move from fifth to fourth place in the Asia-Pacific cloud vendor rankings through landmark projects and solutions,” explained Tencent’s International Business Group Vice President, Poshu Yeung.
