Cloud Giant Google and Telecom Giant AT&T Partner on Cloud Activity
Cloud giant Google and telecom giant AT&T have partnered on cloud activity. The collaboration targets business customers and sees Google Cloud Platform (GCP) join the AT&T NetBond for Cloud Ecosystem, and AT&T’s hosted voice and collaboration solution AT&T Collaborate(SM) introduce support for Google's G Suite communication and collaboration suite - which includes Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, and other tools.

The partnership allows business customers to utilize AT&T NetBond for Cloud to connect to GCP through Google's ‘Partner Interconnect’. This enables users to move workloads “across multiple cloud environments without ever touching the public internet”. Partner Interconnect also gives companies private GCP connectivity and “allows data centers geographically distant from a Google Cloud region or point of presence to connect at up to 10Gbps”. Using the NetBond for Cloud ecosystem, Google can utilize around 20 leading cloud providers and offer access to more than 130 different cloud solutions. In addition, having G Suite available next to AT&T Collaborate, businesses can access chat, voice, video and desktop sharing from a unified source.

"We're committed to helping businesses transform through our edge-to-edge capabilities,” explained Chief Product Officer, AT&T Business, Roman Pacewicz. “This collaboration with Google Cloud gives businesses access to a full suite of productivity tools and a highly secure, private network connection to the Google Cloud Platform. Together, Google Cloud and AT&T are helping businesses streamline productivity and connectivity in a simple, efficient way."

"AT&T provides organizations globally with secure, smart solutions, and our work to bring Google Cloud's portfolio of products, services and tools to every layer of its customers' business helps serve this mission,” added President Global Customer Operations, Google Cloud, Paul Ferrand. “Our alliance allows businesses to seamlessly communicate and collaborate from virtually anywhere and connect their networks to our highly-scalable and reliable infrastructure."
