Cloud Giant Microsoft Acquires Application Management Technology Provider BlueStripe
Cloud giant Microsoft has acquired application management technology provider BlueStripe. The Redmond, Washington-based corporation made the acquisition on June 10, 2015 with the aim of enhancing the cloud and on-premise monitoring capabilities of its Enterprise Cloud division. Financial aspects of the deal were not released.

The cloud offers enterprises commercial advantage by allowing them to jettison their IT function and focus on core competencies. Hybrid and multicloud solutions are increasingly popular and BlueStripe's solutions enable IT managers to access how well their applications are performing in a third-party infrastructure. It does this by determining how applications interact with data center IT systems. BlueStripe's solutions also manage application updates and migration of applications to the cloud. These capabilities will be drawn into Microsoft's cloud offerings.

“I’m pleased to announce that Microsoft has completed the acquisition of BlueStripe Software, a leading provider of application management technology,” explained Enterprise Cloud, General Manager Mike Neil on the Official Microsoft Blog. “BlueStripe’s solution helps map, monitor and troubleshoot distributed applications across heterogeneous operating systems and multiple datacenter and cloud environments. BlueStripe is commonly used today by customers to extend the value of Microsoft System Center by adding application-aware infrastructure performance monitoring”.
