Cloud Giant Microsoft and Cloud Content Management and File Sharing Company Box Form Partnership
Cloud giant Microsoft and cloud content management and file sharing company Box have formed a partnership. Globally recognized Microsoft has headquarters in Richmond, Washington, United States. The company has successfully made the transition from a purely software provider, to a provider of cloud-based solutions like Office 365 and Azure. The partnership will see Box leverage Azure as a public cloud platform. The companies have also committed to share “go-to-market investments” as well as other initiatives such as co-selling Box with Azure.

With headquarters in Redwood City, California, United States, Box offers free cloud storage and file hosting for business and personal accounts. It also has paid options - its ‘Starter’ accounts cost $6 per user per month and offer 100 GB of secure storage with 2 GB of file upload. The company also offers a ‘Business’ account for $17 per user per month. The company's Enterprise accounts offer a cloud content management platform, and it is this feature that is the focus of the partnership. The partnership will extend to "enable future integration between Azure’s artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities with Box’s cloud content management platform".

“Azure is a trusted partner in the enterprise and we’re thrilled to be integrating our technologies and going to market with Microsoft,” explained the CEO of Box Aaron Levie in a statement on Microsoft’s website. “Microsoft shares our vision to transform how people and organizations work and Box and Azure together can unlock incredible opportunities for innovation.”
