Cloud Hosting and Security Company Connectria Achieves AWS Healthcare Competency
Cloud hosting and security company Connectria has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Healthcare Competency status for the third year in a row. Connectria, which has headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, adheres to a “No Jerks Allowed” company philosophy that has won it over 1,000 customers globally. The company specializes in “complex multi-vendor solutions” that support a broad range of technologies. Founded in 1996, its services include managed AWS, cloud hosting, and HIPAA and PCI compliant hosting. To achieve AWS Healthcare Competency status, the company underwent a rigorous third-party audit.

AWS Healthcare Competency is given to companies that have proven success in providing solutions for companies in the healthcare industry. By its nature, the healthcare industry deals with highly sensitive information and becoming an AWS Healthcare Competency partner shows a company is able to “securely store, process, transmit, and analyze clinical information” using cloud-based solutions. An audit is required to demonstrate the ability to deliver HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance to AWS’ customers. HIPAA legislation in the United States covers data privacy and security provisions to safeguard medical information.

“As the first provider to deliver HIPAA Compliant clouds, Connectria continues to be recognized as the proven leader in delivering HIPAA Compliance in AWS,” explained Director of Security, Compliance and Technology at Connectria, Steve Grzybinski. “Connectria once again passed this rigorous test, further validating that our innovative, cloud-based solutions meet the unique requirements when handling PHI in AWS, in accordance with the HIPAA standards,” he added.

Connectria will demonstrate its HIPAA compliance capabilities across Windows, Linux, IBM i, IBM AIX, VMware or Hyper-V, and Microsoft Azure at HIMSS18, the industry’s largest healthcare IT conference, which takes place March 5-9, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Over 70,000 attendees are expected to attend the event.
