ProfitBricks has announced the opening of a second US data center. ProfitBricks, which has headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 2010. The company bills itself as a “channel-focused” provider whose services, alongside cloud computing and IaaS, extend to cloud networking and public cloud services. ProfitBricks’ new data center is located on the East Coast of the United States.
Sold exclusively through Englewood, Colorado-based cloud distributor Pax8, ProfitBricks’ IaaS public cloud infrastructure services meet the needs of global service providers that cater to smaller and medium-sized businesses. The company’s partners can use its graphical Data Center Designer (DCD) and its cloud APIs to set up Virtual Data Centers and its partners can opt for Intel or AMD or processors with no restriction on RAM. Located in Newark, New Jersey, United States, ProfitBricks’ new center is a response to growth in its cloud activity and joins the company’s existing an existing facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States and three Tier-4-type data centers in Germany.
“Cloud infrastructure services in the U.S. and Canada are on the rise and quickly gaining adoption with a projected growth rate of 18 percent this year, according to Gartner,” explained ProfitBricks’ Vice President of Business Development, Aaron Garza. “By opening a new data center space on the East Coast near New York City, we are able to offer a more strategic footprint so customers can freely decide where to store and process their data and partners can expand their existing compute power. The new and powerful state-of-the-art colocation facility is ideally placed and includes the latest certifications, security features, and emergency backup protocols to keep data flowing.”
