Cloud infrastructure automation leader HashiCorp has announced the release of its “next generation” ‘HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise’ (Terraform) provisioning software. HashiCorp, which has headquarters in San Francisco, California, United States, offers services that allow organizations to “adopt consistent workflows to provision, secure, connect, and run any infrastructure for any application”. The Terraform solution can cater for both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
Terraform has been adopted by a large number of Global 2000 organizations. The solution addresses problems scaling provisioning practices across entire organizations. Around 100 organizations were involved in beta trials of the new solution version, which offers a range of new features. These features “enable collaboration among practitioners using HashiCorp Terraform and provide governance and policy management capabilities with HashiCorp’s Sentinel policy as code framework”.
“Terraform has seen tremendous adoption globally by helping infrastructure operators with the complexity of provisioning and managing diverse infrastructure,” explained the founder and co-CTO of HashiCorp, Armon Dadgar. “Terraform Enterprise is a natural extension to the open source version of Terraform and focuses on providing a way for teams of operators to collaborate while providing the necessary policy guardrails these organizations need for their IT infrastructure. The general availability announcement culminates a successful beta phase, where we worked with more than 100 organizations to make sure Terraform Enterprise effectively addresses the requirements for organizations of all sizes and complexities.”
