Cloud Management Tools Specialist Cloudability Acquires CloudMGR
Cloud management tools specialist Cloudability has acquired CloudMGR. With headquarters in Portland, Oregon, United States, Cloudability offers a tool that enables companies to “monitor, manage and communicate” cloud costs “across departments, products and infrastructure”. Cloudability is used by companies like General Electric, Uber and Adobe that leverage public cloud services including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. The acquisition is Cloudability’s fifth in Australasia, giving it even greater access to the region’s “explosive cloud market”.

CloudMGR is an AWS Advanced Technology partner based in Brisbane, Australia. An “early leader in the cloud automation space”, CloudMGR was founded by Craig Deveson, “one of the first entrepreneurs outside the U.S. to recognize the potential of the cloud”. The company’s services enable users to control and optimize their cloud usage. Tightly integrated with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, CloudMGR makes operating a cloud environment “easier and more profitable”. The financial aspects of the acquisition have not been released.

“Our two companies have known each other almost since the start,” explained Mat Ellis Cloudability’s founder and CEO in the company’s blog. “It was Craig and folks like him (including a few early customers in the region) who tipped us off to the rapid and deep adoption of the cloud down under, leading us to select Australia as our first overseas operation nearly three years ago. I’m delighted that Craig will be joining Cloudability’s growing team there as General Manager to lead our Australia and New Zealand operations”.
