ShieldX Networks, Inc. (ShieldX) is offering a new cloud security product called APEIRO. ShieldX, which has headquarters in San Jose, California, United States, prides itself on “redefining cloud security to better protect organizations against cyber threats” in public, private or multi-cloud environments. Established in 2015 and recognized in 2017 by Gartner as a “Cool Vendor”, ShieldX has been involved in intensive development of APEIRO over the last 15 months.
While organizations want to benefit from the cloud, lack of security technology that meets the current needs of the cloud mean companies continually have to make compromises. With a team that have held roles at companies like McAfee, Symantec, Cisco, Intel, NetApp and VMware, ShieldX has significant expertise in cloud computing, network security and software-defined architectures. Based on this the company was able to raise $9 million in Series A financing in November 2015.
ShieldX’s APEIRO solution offers broad security controls can be scaled as businesses grow. Certified VMware-Ready, OpenStack Compatible and ready to use with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), it is deployed in 15 minutes can detect “external and lateral threats in more than a terabit of traffic, automatically spinning services up and down as needed.”
