July 6, 2007
July 6, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Colocation provider American Internet Service (AIS – http://www.americanis.net) has opened its second data center, it was announced recently. The opening of the new 80,000 square-foot center, located in San Diego, USA, makes AIS the “largest independent colocation provider in Southern California”.

Key features of AIS’ new colocation data center include 13 megawatts of power, 1500 tons of cooling, redundant UPS systems, performance routing across 6 major backbones, redundant feeds to redundant power substations and redundant generators, N+1 redundancy on all data center and network systems, robust security systems, and 7 x 24 staffing.

The move comes as a result of a period of development and expansion that has seen AIS double revenue in just over a year. “American Internet Service’s amazing growth is attributed to two major factors,” explained Robert DeuPree, AIS’s Chief Executive Officer. “The first is our clients demand for highly reliable, secure data center space and our ability to meet that need. The second and most important reason is that we set ourselves apart from the competition by providing the best bandwidth, most uptime and the best customer service. AIS is setting the industry standards for collocation”.

Alongside serving a broad range of small- and medium-sized business customers, American Internet Service provides collocation services to a number of Fortune 500 clients in a range of industries, including financial institutions, credit card companies, government contractors, IT outsourcing providers, pharmaceuticals manufacturers, online entertainment and gaming companies.
