Colocation Services Provider ViaWest Opens Data Center in Minneapolis
Colocation services provider ViaWest has opened a data center in Chaska, Minneapolis, USA. The company, a provider of colocation, managed, and cloud services in the North American market, celebrated the launch with a opening ceremony that saw the attendance of Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Ms. Katie Clark Sieben.

ViaWest’s new PCI, SOC, SSAE and HIPAA compliant facility will offer private suites, cages, and cabinets. It offers 9 MW redundant UPS capacity, 700+ Watts/SF high density pod availability, highly efficient cooling systems and 3,000 of tons of redundant cooling capacity.

The data center features a “fault tolerant design” and will offer a wide range of solutions including colocation, managed, cloud services and hybrid options. It also offers in excess of 70,000 square feet of raised floor space. The company has announced it will pursue achieving Tier IV design certification for the facility, which is underpinned by an ongoing customer support that includes on-site engineers.
