Computer Data Storage Company EMC Signs MoU with Telecommunications Company STC
Computer data storage company EMC Corporation (EMC) has signed an MoU with telecommunications company STC. EMC, which has headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts, USA, was established in 1979. The company has been in the news a lot recently as earlier this month it was announced that hardware company Dell will acquire EMC for $67 billion - the largest technology deal ever. EMC and STC have signed an agreement covering cloud activity.

STC is a representative of Saudi Telecom and has headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Established in 1998, the company is the main ICT services provider in Saudi Arabia. The MoU was signed at this year’s GITEX – an annual information technology exhibition held in Dubai, Cairo, Hyderabad and Beirut. The agreement sees the two companies cooperate in cloud computing activity such as data storage, information management, information security, data Protection and availability, virtualization, big data and analytics. The move is a response to increased demand for such services within the Kingdom.

“Our MoU with EMC Corporation means we can offer high quality elastic storage solutions in a reliable manner that allows our enterprise customers to reach high performance rates and achieve results that are measurable,” explained the Senior Vice President of STC Enterprise, Tarig M. Enaya. “This new cooperation with STC brings us closer to our global customer base, who have operations here in Saudi Arabia, and opens door for new customers in the Kingdom to increase their business operation effectiveness and efficiency by applying advanced EMC cloud solutions,” added the Senior Vice President of EMC Corporation in Turkey, Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East, Mohammed Amin.
