Dell Inc. has appointed Anand Sankaran to lead its infrastructure and cloud activity. Mr. Sankaran replaces Kevin Jones who recently became Dell Services' Chief Customer and Sales Officer. Mr. Sankaran will work in Bangalore, India under the company's President of Services Segment, Suresh Vaswani.
Mr. Sankaran is well positioned to help Dell meet future market requirements. A 25-year computer industry veteran, he will oversee the company's infrastructure activity and lead a global team of around 10,000 people. He previously worked for IT services and consulting company Wipro which he joined in 1989. In his last position he worked as Wipro's Senior Vice President of the Global Infrastructure Services and also led its India and Middle East operations.
Mr. Sankaran joins other former Wipro employees at Dell, including Ashutosh Vaidya, Head of Business Process Outsourcing, Sameer Kishore, Head of US Infrastructure, and Head of Strategy and Business Innovation Services, Raman Sapra.
