Could Giant Microsoft Agrees to Acquire Cloudyn
Could giant Microsoft has agreed to acquire Cloudyn. Microsoft, which has headquarters in Richmond, Washington, United States, has successfully transitioned from a computer software company to a cloud player. The company’s cloud offerings include Office 365 and the Azure cloud platform. Its latest move comes on the heels of a number of acquisitions in 2017, including Maluuba, Simplygon, Deis, Intentional Software and Hexadite. Microsoft’s interest in Cloudyn lies in its cloud cost management capability. While financial aspects of the deal have not been released, some reports put it in the region of $70 million.

Cloudyn has headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel and offices in Boston and New York in the United States. Established in 2012, the company’s SaaS solution enables users to manage and optimize multi-cloud deployments by offering “visibility into usage, performance and cost”. It also offers a comparison engine for Azure versus AWS and Google Cloud. The company has a broad customer base which includes Fortune 500 companies.

“I am pleased to announce that Microsoft has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cloudyn, an innovative company that helps enterprises and managed service providers optimize their investments in cloud services,” explained Jeremy Winter, the Director of Program Management, Azure Security and Operations Management at Microsoft on the company’s blog. “As customers grow their cloud usage across many projects, it can be challenging to gain visibility and understand costs for existing projects, to optimize those investments and to project future usage”.
