Cybersecurity Solutions Provider Comodo Announces Launch of Secure Web Platform
Cybersecurity solutions provider Comodo has announced the launch of Comodo Dome, a new cloud-based secure web platform. Comodo, which has headquarters in Clifton, New Jersey, United States, offers a range of security solutions including SSL certificates and antivirus options. Comodo Dome was launched at the 2016 RSA Conference which took place February 29-March 4, 2016 in San Francisco, California, United States.

Comodo provides “endpoint security leadership and true containment technology” to the companies and individuals that make up its global customer base. The company’s solutions enable customers to authenticate and validate their most critical information and to date its desktop security software has been installed 85 million times. The company has a global presence including China, India, the Philippines, Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. Its new solution provides “highly advanced security checkpoints” for incoming and outgoing network traffic.

The Comodo Dome Security-as-a Service (SaaS) platform is a modular solution that suits Managed Services Providers (MSPs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and companies of a range of sizes. It can be utilized as a platform to deliver services to others or as a stand-alone service. It allows users to “layer in” the modules they require for their networks and these can include Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), and firewall and bandwidth management and secure VPN modules alongside sandboxing and antispam solutions. The modules can be added quickly and together offer complete network security that complies with a company’s corporate policies.

Comodo Dome blocks known bad files and identifies unknown files which are added to portable containers which allow users to open files with “zero risk of infection”. The solution monitors all Internet traffic and offers real-time protection against malicious threats including zero-day malware. It can also reveal threats that have been ignored by other antivirus solutions. It also helps “eliminate the cumbersome costs associated with traditional gateway services”.

"Every best-of-breed web security solution today leaves significant gaps in securing mobile first, cloud-centric and borderless networks,” explained Comodo’s Vice President of Enterprise Products, John Peterson. “Having large security content filters and backhauling traffic from remote offices is quickly becoming cumbersome and costly for IT departments of all sizes". He added, “With Comodo Dome, companies can use the platform by itself or layer it with their existing security gateways as an additional and highly critical piece of security, which prevents patient zero infections and unknown file types from being executed on internal networks and devices – solving the malware problem."
