Data center and interconnection solutions provider Cologix, Inc. (Cologix) now offers optimized Amazon Web Services (AWS) via its data center in Vancouver, Canada. Cologix has headquarters in Denver, Colorado and offers interconnection and colocation services through facilities across the United States (Columbus, Dallas, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Minneapolis, Montreal, and New Jersey) and in Toronto and Vancouver in Canada. The move is of particular benefit to Cologix customers in the British Columbia area who wish to establish hybrid cloud deployments with AWS.
Cologix's move towards AWS Direct Connect means that its customers can improve performance and lower costs by connecting infrastructure "via a secure and private connection to the AWS cloud". The AWS node resides at the VAN2 data center which offers access to more than 40 networks alongside direct access to the Vancouver Internet Exchange (VANIX). This means that AWS Direct Connect is now available in Montreal, Columbus, Toronto and Vancouver as well as Dallas and New Jersey.
"We are pleased to addVancouvertoMontrealandColumbuson the list of markets where Cologix supports the native AWS Direct Connect node.Vancouveris a growth market further validates that it is as a key market for interconnection," explained Cologix's CEO and President, Grant van Rooyen. "Customers can greatly benefit from connecting to AWS via the lowest latency option through our data centre and we look forward to enabling the Vancouver demand."
