Data Center and IT Infrastructure Solutions Provider Caronet Adds Peering Partnerships
Data center and IT infrastructure solutions provider Caronet has added additional peering partnerships to what already represents an extensive list of industry players which includes companies such as Facebook, Google and Dropbox. The aim of the additional partnerships is to broaden the footprint of the company’s peering options.

Caronet, which was established in 1995 and has headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, maintains an “open peering” policy, involving “any responsible BGP speaker” that can include its customers ‘end-user experience”. To facilitate peering, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) do not drive traffic through the Internet, but through a shared network. This facilitates enhanced performance whilst reducing resource requirements. Caronet has added 49 new partners to its network, bringing its total partnerships to 110. The company’s new partners include major players such as Oracle, Priceline.com, and Terremark Worldwide, Inc.

“We’re continually searching for avenues to improve our offering,” explained Caronet’s Vice President of Facilities and Engineering, Morgan Miskell. “It’s important for us to be able to provide our clients with the best possible means of supporting their business. These new peering partnerships help us to do just that.”

“It’s part of our commitment to our customers. We’re always adding to our peering list in effort to provide the most diverse and redundant options for routing, worldwide,” added Mr. Miskell.
