Data center, cloud and managed hosting services provider QTS Realty Trust (QTS) has announced the launch a new PacketFabric-powered platform. QTS, which has headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, United States, was established in 2005. The company “operates or manages more than 5 million square feet of data center space” and caters to around 1,000 customers globally. The new Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-based platform will enhance QTS’ capability of offering “fast, secure and scalable connectivity”.

By utilizing PacketFabric QTS simplifies its customers network strategies through carrier neutral data centers that offer “diverse connectivity to the cloud and other mission-critical IT environments”. The new platform offers QTS’ customer's visibility and control of network traffic driven through QTS facilities. The new offerings will initially be available through QTS centers in Suwanee and Atlanta, Georgia; Piscataway and Jersey City, New Jersey, Chicago, Illinois, Richmond, Virginia and Miami, Florida in the United States.

The new platform also allows customers to provision additional capacity to meet capacity demands “most bandwidth-intensive applications and workloads” of any network, cloud service provider, or facility that requires it. PacketFabric’s advanced Application Program Interface (API) and web-based portal will also enable QTS’ customers to design and deploy any network configuration.

"QTS' cloud networking service powered by PacketFabric enhances the process of provisioning and managing network infrastructure for a growing number of enterprises seeking control over the 'last mile' between their applications and their data center provider."
