Data Center Company Equinix Gains Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Status
Data center company Equinix has announced it has gained Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform status for its Equinix Professional Services (EPS) division. Equinix has head offices in Redwood City, California, United States and specializes in ‘carrier-neutral’ data centers. The company offers a range of enterprise-grade internet services including cloud options. The status recognizes the company’s hybrid cloud expertise and market leadership.

Equinix has been a Microsoft partner for a number of years and started offering access to Microsoft Azure in 2014. Equinix optimizes hybrid clouds for applications and workloads, connecting directly to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Azure Stack inside Equinix. Microsoft Gold status is the highest certification level available to those in the Microsoft partnership program. It is given to partners that demonstrate the ability to meet Microsoft’s strict requirements. Organizations need to demonstrate they have developed products and solutions that leverage Microsoft technologies and also show positive customer satisfaction through customer references. Achievement of this recognition underscores Equinix's commitment to offering Microsoft hybrid cloud solutions through the global International Business Exchange (IBX) data center network.

"Hybrid cloud is revolutionizing the way enterprises do business, and Equinix is committed to empowering our customers to deploy high-performance, scalable and secure hybrid cloud solutions on a global scale,” explained Equinix’s Global Managing Director, Microsoft Strategic Alliance, Bob Breynaert. “A critical component of this is interconnectivity to Microsoft Azure and Office 365 platforms inside our vast platform of data centers. We are honored to have reached Gold partner status with Microsoft, and look forward to providing additional ways for our global customers to achieve improved performance of their cloud-based applications."

Equinix will be present at the Microsoft Inspire conference that takes place July 9-13, 2017 in Washington, D.C. where it will showcase its interconnection capabilities.
