Data Center Company HostDime Starts New Data Center Construction
Data center company HostDime.com, Inc. (HostDime) has started construction of a new data center. The company, which was established in 2001, offers a range of services including Virtual Private Servers (VPS), colocation, dedicated servers and cloud storage. The company caters to more than 50,000 customers. It has headquarters and data centers in Orlando, Florida, United States alongside further data centers in Mexico and Brazil. With around 250 staff globally, the company has network facilities in Colombia, Hong Kong, India, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The new data center will also be in Orlando.

HostDime’s new $25 million, 88,000-square-foot facility will be HIPPA, PCI, SOC 2, and FISMA-compliant and also include a new corporate office. The seven floor building was designed by Baker Barrios Architects, Inc. and it will house HostDime’s130 employees in the United States. The data center will offer customers private client cage space alongside private mini data center rooms underpinned by 10G internet access and over 100 gigabits of network connectivity. Amenities for staff will include a cafeteria, a games room, and a gym. The center will offer a range of security measures such as facial recognition access control and 360 degree security cameras. Camera-equipped drones will also monitor the center’s exterior.

“Back in 2003 when HostDime was a ‘startup’, many people would ask us, ‘Why are you building a data center in Orlando?,’ and I would reply ‘Why not?’,” explained HostDime’s CEO and VP of Global Operations, Manny Vivar.” Fast forward to today and Central Florida is seen as a major technology epicenter in the Southeastern United States. This facility will be a major peering connection for companies to connect in a fast growing Central Florida region. The caliber and uniqueness of this facility can only be found in major metro areas such as New York or Los Angeles. We are taking a unique approach with this facility to be a marriage of client hospitality and data center infrastructure services. You will be able to step into this facility and never think about having your services elsewhere again with all the client amenities we are offering.”
