Dell Report Suggests Companies who Adopt the Cloud Experience Significant Growth
A report presented by Dell suggests that companies who adopt the cloud experience significant growth. Dell, which has headquarters in Round Rock, Texas, United States, was established in 1984 and is a globally recognized brand recognized for computer hardware. Over recent years, the company has delved into the cloud arena. Its report, the annual Global Technology Adoption Index (GTAI 2015), suggests that companies moving to the cloud can experience up to 53% more growth than companies using a traditional IT approach.

Dell’s report was conducted by TNS, a “world leader in market research, global market information” with a presence in over 80 countries. The report was based on a survey of “IT and business decision makers” at 2,900 businesses in 11 countries (including the USA, the UK, Australia, China, Brazil and India).

The report found that decision makers reported 42% cost savings in the cloud, alongside greater efficiency reported by 40% of respondents. 38% of respondents suggested more efficient IT services allocation were experienced in the cloud. ‘Big data’ is also helping companies consider the benefits of issues such as social media campaigns. However, 20% of respondents suggested the cost of adopting big data is prohibitive. Dell suggests that 50% of those surveyed believed security was one advantage of the cloud.

"Cloud use continues to increase in midsized organisations, with Western Europe seeing the most growth," a Dell representative explained in a press release. "Globally, cloud use continues to diversify as more organisations use multiple types of cloud services."
