Digital Solutions Provider Jisc Selects Security Company Arbor Networks for DDoS Protection
Digital solutions provider Jisc has selected security company Arbor Networks Inc. (Arbor Networks) for Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) protection. Jisc was formerly known as the ‘Joint Information Systems Committee’ and was established in 1993. With headquarters in Bristol, United Kingdom, it is a not-for-profit organization that supports higher education in the United Kingdom with research, consulting services, and technology development. Jisc plays a “pivotal role in the development, adoption and use of technology by UK universities and colleges”. Its flagship solution is ‘Janet’, the “UK’s world-class National Research and Education Network (NREN)”. Arbor Networks’ services will ensure the availability of the Janet Network and other key applications.

Arbor Networks is a NETSCOUT company with headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, United States. Established in 2000, the company’s specializes in network security and network monitoring software. With DDoS attacks such major threats on the cyber security landscape, Arbor Networks’ services will protect Jisc’s 700+ member organizations and also provide support for the ‘Janet Network Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)’.
