May 23, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Domain Name and web hosting provider Go Daddy is sponsoring NASCARs Craftsman Truck Series, it was announced yesterday. The company, which bills itself as the worlds largest domain registrar will sponsor driver Landon Cassill, who will drive the GoDaddy.com #46 Chevrolet truck in two additional races - the Ohio 250 this Saturday and the AAA Insurance 200 in Delaware, USA on May 30, 2008.
Go Daddy has a history of edgy advertising. The company kicked off Super Bowl advertising in 2005 and made a star of Nikki Capelli. Their Super Bowl advertising was banned during a game for being inappropriate, while Go Daddys 2006 commercial was submitted and changed 14 times before it was finally approved.
More recently Go Daddy engaged Danica Patrick as a Go Daddy Girl. Ms. Patrick was voted Sexiest Female Athlete for 2007 by Victoria Secret races and has become the first woman in history to win an IndyCar Series race.
Discussing Go Daddys advertising in a HostSearch interview in April 2006, the companys Founder and
CEO Bob Parsons suggested, There is no doubt that our Super Bowl commercials helped Go Daddy become a household name, but any commercial and in fact, any advertising -- is really only a small part of the story. At the end of the day you must be able to back-up your brand with great, well-priced products supported by excellent customer service.
