Namecheap has announced its latest landmark of securing 3 million domains under management.
This milestone comes just under 12 months since its last declaration of 2 million domains in June 2011, cementing the company’s reputation as one of the world’s top domain registrars.
CEO Richard Kirkendall described the delight within the company regarding their latest achievement. “We’re ecstatic to have reached this substantial milestone so quickly,” he said
Much of the Namecheap’s publicity has come from work they have completed surrounding protecting our planet and the environment.
In 2010 they entered a partnership with the International Tree Foundation (ITF), which continues to this day, including the planting of over 3,000 trees in 2012 in association with the ITF.
Along with these initiatives, Namecheap ran a special transfer promotion which benefited the Save the Elephants organization through charity donations and also made a stand against SOPA and PIPA legislations in 2011. This included shutting down their website for a day, which gained large amounts of publicity.
Kirkendall went on to explain the importance of Namecheap’s work surrounding the natural environment.

Their strong relations with their customers have led to 90,000 and 60,000 followers and fans on Twitter and Facebook, respectively. Their business is seemingly ever-increasing and has earned plaudits from individuals such as Evan Williams, the founder of Twitter.
