Drupal Specialist Vardot Announces New Cairo Office
Drupal specialist Vardot has announced the opening of a new office in Cairo, Egypt. Vardot, which has headquarters in Amman, Jordan, was established in 2011. The company has offices in the United States and Qatar, and is “the largest Drupal solutions provider in the Middle East”. Its customers include Al Jazeera, Georgetown University, and the United Nations. The company’s new office is in Nasr City, a district of Cairo, and the move underscores the importance of Drupal to the region’s hosting market.

Drupal is a leading Open Source (OS) Content Management System (CMS) used to create internet websites of a range of complexity. Launched in 2001, Drupal is not as popular as rival solutions WordPress or Joomla, but it is favoured by someone companies and developers who regard it as being more secure. Vardot leverages Drupal and other Open Source technologies to help companies build strategic websites that meet their business goals. The company’s new Cairo office will “capitalizes on local talented software developers” who will provide professional Drupal services.

With the move Vardot will also increase its contributions to the Drupal project and the Open Source community in general. The company will also embark on training programmes designed to “empower the Drupal community in Egypt and Middle East”. Its initiatives include ‘Hello Drupal!’ - an introductory Drupal training workshop that is available free of charge.
