eApps Hosting (eApps) has announced the launch of new Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) options. eApps, which has headquarters in Norcross, Georgia, United States, bills itself as a “leading provider of cloud application hosting”. Established in 1996, the company is manned by a support team that includes “experts on some of the most widely used applications”. The company caters to around 5000 customers worldwide and hosts in excess of 15,000 domains.

eApps specializes in offering a number of frameworks that include Groovy and Grails, Ruby on Rails and PHP with Zend. The company also supports Content Management System (CMS) solutions like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla! and also offers Tomcat, GlassFish, JBoss for Java Application Servers, and Liferay Portal for web applications alongside MySQL and PostgreSQL for relational databases. Each solution is made available using eApps’ proprietary web-based administration interface. Its new PaaS option is powered by Jelastic.

eApps new option offers cloud hosting designed for developers available with a genuine “pay for what you use” model. It includes a number of key tools that make deployment and management of web applications easier. These include tools like Ant and Maven, repositories like git, svn, and IDEs such as Eclipse, IDEA, and NetBeans. The option also offers automatic scaling to ensure smooth website operation during usage changes. Developers are also able to set minimum reserved resources through the Jelastic Dashboard and resources can be scaled up and down to meet demand.
