December 19, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Emily Sampson has joined web host LeaseWeb’s Business Development Team, it was reported recently. The company, which bills itself as “the Netherlands’ largest corporate hosting provider”, brought Ms. Sampson onboard to help the company expand into Eastern Europe. 30-year old Ms. Sampson is English and according to LeaseWeb, “previously held a similar position at Microsoft in Munich”.

LeaseWeb sees Eastern Europe as a major market for its hosting, which the company suggests, offers a number of advantages for Eastern European users. “Internet connections in Eastern Europe are still not comparable to those in Amsterdam,” explained LeaseWeb’s Managing Director, Con Zwinkels. “Connections in Amsterdam are faster and more stable. In addition, our hosting network, with its capacity of 500 Gigabits per second, is attractive to those countries.”

The company currently manages more than 15,000 dedicated servers in four different datacenters, with around 70% of the dedicated servers used by clients in foreign countries, including Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and also Turkey).

“Creating hosting business in several of those countries – that”s what I did at Microsoft in Munich,” explained Ms. Sampson. “For example, by developing hosting bundles, looking for specific offers, and finding partners to work with. I see lots of synergy with the work at LeaseWeb. My responsibilities at LeaseWeb will be similar to what I was doing before.”

“The Microsoft Central and Eastern European Headquarters is a great place to be and Microsoft is a fantastic company to work for,” added Ms. Sampson, “But at my age, I think it’s great to be at the foot of a worldwide expansion. I’m 30 years old and together with LeaseWeb, I can still conquer the market.”

LeaseWeb offers a range of hosting solutions and is “among the top-20 hosting providers worldwide”. Its services also include domain name registration, dedicated servers, collocation, server virtualization, and streaming. The company has a network that offers 500 Gbps bandwidth through four datacenters in the Amsterdam region and through major carriers. It has activity in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Frankfurt, New York, Vienna, Stockholm, Warsaw, Zurich, Prague and Madrid.
