Enterprise Backup and Continuity Solutions Provider Unitrends Extends Partnership with Backup and Recovery Apps Provider Spanning
Enterprise backup and continuity solutions provider Unitrends has extended its partnership with backup and recovery applications provider Spanning Cloud Apps (Spanning). Unitrends, which has headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 1989. The company bills itself as increasing “uptime and confidence in a world in which IT professionals must do more with less”. Its “all-in-one enterprise backup and continuity” solutions enable customers to focus core competency rather than managing backup. Its strategic partnership with Spanning sees an expansion of backup solutions for Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite, and Salesforce.

Spanning, which has headquarters in Austin, Texas, United States, was established in 2010. The company is “the leading provider of backup and recovery for SaaS applications” and enables 8,000 businesses and other organizations to avoid data loss through user error, malicious activity, and other threats. The company, which has data centers in Australia, North America, and the European Union, bills itself as “the only global provider of powerful, enterprise-class data protection for Microsoft Office 365, G Suite, and Salesforce”. The partnership between the two organizations will enable customers to protect Software-as-as-Service (SaaS) data “without slowing performance or overburdening their IT staff”. Unitrends has made Spanning Backup for Office 365 immediately available to customers, while Spanning Backup for Salesforce and Spanning Backup for G Suite to be available later in the year.

"Both Unitrends and Spanning enable enterprises to have peace of mind about their data by providing enterprise-class backup and recovery software that's well designed and easy to use," explained Unitrends’ CEO Paul Brady. "As our customers increasingly rely on cloud-based SaaS applications, their data protection needs could become more complex. Spanning Backup solutions reduce that complexity by bringing Office 365, G Suite and Salesforce into our portfolio of data protection."

"Organizations of all sizes are coming to the realization that backup for their SaaS application data is critical, both to recover from data loss and for compliance reasons," added Spanning’s CEO, Jeff Erramouspe. “We believe that the backup and recovery of SaaS data should be as simple as possible. Data protection doesn't need to be complicated and data loss doesn't need to be a data disaster. We're thrilled to partner with Unitrends to bring the benefits of Spanning Backup for Office 365, Salesforce and G Suite to more customers around the globe."
