Web Hosting Provider Ethical Host Now “100% Wind Powered”
October 30, 2006 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Canadian web hosting provider Ethical Host (http://www.ethicalhost.ca) is now “100% wind powered,” it was announced late last week. The company has signed an agreement with the Pembina Institute to purchase ‘Wind Power Certificates’ to offset its electricity usage from “computers, servers and server equipment”.
"We are pleased to be partnering with the leading provider of sustainable energy development in Canada. These renewable energy certificates help us to expand our commitment to supporting environmental initiatives,” explained John MacKenzie, President of Ethical Host Now.
Beyond purchasing Wind Power Certificates, Ethical Host Now reduces energy usage by using “energy star appliances, CFL light bulbs and other energy efficient equipment” in the company’s office. Members of staff are also reported to “walk, bike and use public transit” as much as possible.
